Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ARISE INSTITUTE ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information through Vidya AI, the learning platform available at chat.earise.in ("the Service"). It applies to students, teachers, and administrators who use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information you or your institution provides, such as name, username, email address, mobile number, and enrolled class/course.
- Learning activity, such as questions asked, practice/test attempts and scores, doubts raised, and attendance at live classes.
- Google account information, described in detail in Section 2 below, when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Technical information such as session cookies used to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, timestamps) used for security and diagnostics.
2. How We Use Google Sign-In
Vidya AI offers "Sign in with Google" as a convenience for already enrolled students. We request only the following OAuth scopes:
| Scope | Purpose |
|---|---|
openid, email, profile |
To verify your identity and match your Google account's verified email address to your existing Vidya AI account. |
When you sign in with Google, we store only your Google account identifier and verified email address, linked to your existing Vidya AI account record. We do not create new, unenrolled accounts through Google sign-in: if the email on your Google account does not match an active, already-enrolled account, sign-in is declined. We do not request or store a Google refresh/offline token for this sign-in flow, and we do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google data through this scope.
3. Google Meet for Doubt-Session Meetings
Separately, a VIDYA administrator may connect one designated
organizational Google Workspace account to the Google Meet API
(scope meetings.space.created) solely to generate
meeting links for teacher–student doubt-resolution sessions.
This connection is performed once by an administrator, not by
individual students or teachers. The resulting authorization token
is stored encrypted on our servers, is never logged or displayed,
and is used only to create Google Meet links. Students and
teachers who join these meetings do so with their own Google
accounts directly with Google, under Google's own terms; we do not
receive or store their Google account data through this feature.
If this connection is unavailable, doubt sessions automatically
fall back to an alternative meeting room so sessions are not
disrupted.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service (authentication, enrollment, class scheduling, doubt resolution, practice tests).
- To personalize your learning experience (recommendations, progress tracking).
- To communicate service-related notices (class schedules, doubt responses, account notices).
- To maintain audit logs for security, abuse prevention, and administrative accountability.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only:
- With your own institution's teachers/administrators, to the extent necessary to deliver teaching, grading, and support.
- With service providers that help operate the platform (e.g. hosting, and, where used, live-class providers), bound to use data only to provide that service.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of the Service or its users.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and learning-activity data for as long as your account is active, and thereafter as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us (Section 9).
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted storage of sensitive credentials (such as the Google Meet connection token), HTTPS in transit, and session cookies that are HttpOnly and marked Secure.
8. Your Choices
- You may use username/password sign-in instead of Google sign-in at any time.
- You may ask us to disconnect any linked Google identity from your account.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law and our legitimate operational and legal needs.
9. Contact Us
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@chatvidya.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
